【Abstract】 This paper presents a field study of the English translation of public signs in Anhui cities.The firsthand bilingual data of public signs is collected and the errors found therein are classified and analyzed.Based on Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory,the textual analysis of the data collected is conducted,and the basic rules that the translation in this field should abide are discussed.The causes of the errors are also analyzed and some corresponding measures are put forward.更多还原
