一种频率可调的光学生成微波毫米波源
Frequency-tunable microwave and millimeter-wave sources with photonic generation
【摘要】 实现了一种频率可调的光纤微波毫米波信号源。利用掺铒光纤(EDF)环形腔中的偏振烧孔(PHB)效应和激光反向传播的特点,在室温下得到了波长间隔可调的稳定的单频单纵模双波长激光器,将两束激光在PIN光电二极管中拍频得到了频率在472.5 MHz~26.5 GHz间变化的毫米波信号,输出功率不小于0.015 mW,3dB带宽约为30 kHz。
【Abstract】 A novel photonic generation technique for frequency-tunable microwave and millimeter-wave sources is presented.Making use of the polarization hole burning effect and the contrary propagations of two light beams in the Er-doped fiber ring cavity,a dual-wavelength fiber ring laser with stable output and tunable wavelength spacing is obtained at room temperature,outputting a single longitudinal mode with a single frequency along each direction.A millimeter-wave signal ranging from 472.5 MHz to 26.5 GHz is generated by the beat of the two output lasers through a PIN high-speed photonic detector.The power of the millimeter-wave is larger than 0.015 mW,and the 3 dB FWHM is about 30 kHz.
