LHC上WW产生截面的测量(英文)
WW production cross section measurement at LHC
【摘要】 通过蒙特卡罗数据以及WW衰变的轻子道研究了中心能量在10TeV时pp碰撞中WW的产生截面.在0.2fb-1的积分亮度下,通过3个轻子道末态(ee,eμ,μμ)可以期望找到51个信号事例和22个本底事例.可以期望在ATLAS实验的初期,WW产生截面测量的精度能达到17%.
【Abstract】 An MC study of the WW production cross section in pp collisions at a center of mass energy of 10 TeV was presented. The WW→lνl’ν(l,l’=e,μ) decay channels were analyzed using the fully simulated ATLAS Monte Carlo datasets. The expected sensitivity of the measurement was evaluated for an integrated luminosity of 0.2 fb-1. Across the three final states (ee,eμ,μμ),51 signal events and 22 background events are expected. The WW production cross section was expected to be measured at a precision of 17% at the initial phase of the ATLAS experiment.
