【Abstract】 Based on the mechanism of ice-cover fractures in an icecovered river,the criterion applied to predict the mechanical ice-cover breakup is presented using the concept of boundary constraints in channel bends.The applicability of this criterion is demonstrated.The prototype observation data from the Hequ Reach of the Yellow River from 1985 to 1994 are used to validate the criterion.The results show that the criterion can appropriately forecast the onset of ice-cover breakup.更多还原
