【摘要】 近年来,学术界对英语委婉语的认知语义研究,往往侧重于运用概念隐喻理论和原型范畴理论。从概念转喻角度研究英语委婉语,却很少有人涉及。笔者根据转喻的认知基础——邻近性关系分析英语委婉语的转喻认知理据,发现概念转喻在英语委婉语构成机制中起着非常重要的作用。作为人类的基本认知方式,概念转喻对于英语委婉语的重要性不亚于概念隐喻。概念转喻和其他认知方式,如概念隐喻之间的互动,对英语委婉语的构成机制有更强的阐释力。更多还原

【Abstract】 Recently the study of English euphemisms has been little touched from the perspective of Conceptual Metonymy Theory.Euphemisms are mainly studied from the perspectives of Conceptual Metaphor Theory and Prototype Theory.On the cognitive basis of metonymy,Contiguity,this article attempts to study the cognitive motivation of English euphemisms and finds out that conceptual metonymy plays a significant role in the construction of English euphemisms.Conceptual metonymy,as a way of thinking,is no less important than conceptual metaphor.The interaction of conceptual metonymy and other cognitive mechanisms such as conceptual metaphor is capable of providing a more powerful explanation for the construction of English euphemisms.更多还原
