【Abstract】 This paper specifies the characteristics of multi-stage centrifugal compressor with single-shaft overhang type of MCO series. On the condition of same design parameters, the comparison between this kind of compressor and the design project of compressor with conventional single-casing shows that the working efficiency is improved and the operating cost is lowered, and the comparison between this kind of compressor and the design project of compressor with conventional double-casing shows that the manufacturing and operating cost are not only lowered but also the faults are deduced.
