从器具喻人看英汉词语语义转移的隐喻思维

Study on Metaphorical Thinking in Semantic Transfer of English and Chinese Words on the Case of Utensils as Vehicle for Humanity

【摘要】 围绕"食量大的人"、"服药多的人"和"酒量大的人"三个概念进行英汉词语比较,汉语中的相关词语较英语词语表现出明显的"器具喻人"现象,汉语词语语义转移中的隐喻思维表现为"相似联想"与"邻接联想"的互动。

【Abstract】 By a comparison of English and Chinese words describing a person who eats a lot,a person who takes medicine a lot,and a person who drinks a lot,it is revealed that Chinese,rather than English,uses words denoting utensils as vehicles(metaphor) for humanity,and that metaphorical thinking in semantic transfer of Chinese words is comprised of association by similarity and association by contiguity.
