【Abstract】 As a profound emotion and strong belief,religion focuses on the ultimate care for people and it embodies the deepest spiritual need of people.This is just the real meaning and purpose of education.Xia Mianzun devoted himself to education with extreme enthusiasm and sincerity,which is just like religious self-devotion.There is a kind of religious spirit in his educational practice such as the heartfelt sympathy,self-blaming mentation,serious-minded pieties and Buddhist-like education which emphasizes the apperception of oneself.This religious spirit in Xin Mianzun’s educational thoughts can not only guide us out of the utilitarianism in our misunderstanding of education,but also inspire us to make a deep survey of the real meaning and purpose of education.更多还原
