【Abstract】 This study examines Earnshaw′s nonlinear theory of solitary waves in 1845,analyses its peculiarity and influence by textual research.Earnshaw emphasized the great effect of experiments to theoretical research,and based his study on Russell′s tests.His study influenced Stokes greatly,and declared the right way of the research of the theory of solitary waves as well.更多还原
