【Abstract】 With rapid urbanisation and economic development, many manufacturing industries have been relocated to suburban and less-developed areas as they give way to the fast-growing service sector. This trend has resulted in large numbers of old industrial buildings being left empty. To demolish these buildings would mean both a huge social waste and a slashing at the culture and history of our cities. Yet utilising old industrial buildings within cities is a daunting task. The key to redeveloping these buildings lies in adapting them to serving new and more creative functions. Successful redevelopment projects of this kind give a city new energy and life.更多还原
