【Abstract】 The core factor of XUE Ba0-chai’s cultural personality is "moderation".This moderate personality has such advantages as pragmatism,practicality and harmony,but it also has some negative elements including reconciliation,conservatism,fogyism and self-preservation.CAO Xue-qin had evident conflicts in characterization of XUE Bao-chai: while he appreciated and sympathized with her,he was also sorry for and critical of her,and she was not portrayed as a good "model".XUE Bao-chai’s tragedy has some revealing significance on the current construction of national cultural personality.更多还原
