【摘要】 以阿瑟.威利(Arthur Waley)的《道德经》(Tao Te Ching)英译本为蓝本,依据现代人的研究成果,将译文与原文逐句比照,分析该英译本《道德经》第一章译文的得与失。指出第一章是老子的宇宙范畴论,认识和实践的方法论;就古代哲学经典理论体系的翻译工作而言,要义范畴、核心概念及对学说体系纲义性的完整把握是经典翻译的首要,而语言文字当在其次。更多还原

【Abstract】 Taking Arthur Waley’s English translation of Tao Te Ching as our working piece,and availing the most recent research achievement,we attempt,via sentence to sentence comparison,to present a brief analysis of chapter I of Tao Te Ching,making out the possible misreading or errors therein,which might be of benefit to such work.Chapter I presents Lao Zi’s view of the universe,his philosophical method of categorization,theory of knowledge and practice.In translating ancient philosophical classics,key categories and core concept stand first and foremost,while language comes the next.A profound command of the systematic wholeness is a must.更多还原
