利用Van der Pol方程分析MOS LC差分振荡器
Analysis of MOS LC Differential VCO Recurring to Van der Pol’s Equation
【摘要】 回顾了对MOS LC差分振荡器的认识现状。通过简单的推导和Van der Pol方程现有结论,得到了交叉耦合MOS特性对振荡器性能的影响。这些结论包括:1)起振条件;2)输出幅度与参数间的解析表达式;3)振荡器输出频率与LC谐振回路和交叉耦合MOS管非线性特性影响的关系;4)过渡过程的时间常数;5)振荡器输出的谐波特性。这些结论揭示了MOS LC差分振荡器新的现象,对设计者了解振荡器的工作状态和优化设计有一定的参考意义。
【Abstract】 A brief analysis of MOS differential VCO recurring to the available solution of the standard Van der Pol’s Equation is made.The conclusions include: a) the analytic functions of the start-up condition and the amplitude-bias current relationship,b) the harmonic amplitude,c) the time constant of the start-up procedure,and d) the phenomenon that the nonlinear characteristics of the cross-coupled MOS pair can reduce the VCO’s output frequency.These results show some new comprehension about how the VCO’s performance is influenced by the characteristics of the cross-coupled MOS pair,which is helpful for designers to foresee and to optimize the VCO’s performance.
