【Abstract】 Based on an analysis of categories of book series,characteristics of their disciplines,reading psychology,and readers’ retrieval habits,this paper has put forward corresponding proposals on book series’ categorization,cataloguing,and shelf classification.From the angle of retrieval,the paper has also discussed both the description principle of comprehensiveness and distributiveness for book series of different categories,and the principle of regularity and consistency for book series of the same category.In addition,the paper has put forward suggestions on 4 modes of cataloguing and describing book series in an effort to tackle the current disorder and chaos in book series’ printing and publishing.更多还原
