【Abstract】 This article analyzes the issue that appears in financial English translation relating to the functions of social context. Besides the basic necessary techniques in translating financial English into Chinese, one should try to know more about the social context of financial English. In translation, if one wants to transfer precisely the original social context of financial English, one must be attentive to the two functions of social context in communication.
