【Abstract】 In Sister Carrie and Jennie Gerhardt Dreiser depicted two girls of diverse personalities and ensuing fates to reflect his unique naturalistic ethic that human behavior resulted from intrinsic instinct in combination with extrinsic environment.In his view human beings were just the passive ones doing the combination,so there was no morally right or wrong and the traditional moral standard was outdated in the modern society.This is just the reason why Dreiser won the title of "Naturalistic Founder" in American literary history.更多还原
