【Abstract】 This article is an introduction to the hunting god Zhang Wulang.who is the main god worshiped in the Meishan ritual tradition.(meishan jiao).There are many myths about Zhang Wulang in southeast China.If one analyzes and compares these myths.one can see that Zhang Wulang is not a deity native to the Meishan region in Hunan,but rather is a shamanistic(wu jiao)deity of Lü Mountain(闾山) in Jiangxi(which is also known as Lu Mountain(庐山)).According to myth,Zhang Wulang was a northerner living in the mid-Tang dynasty.He studied the ritual arts from Jiulang and was very good at hunting tigeiTales about him spread throughout Jiangxi and Fuj ian.By the end of the Tangdynasty,he had become the shamanistic(WU 7iao)deity Zhang Wulang,Following migrations within the population,his cult spread to the Meishan regionin in Hunan,where he has become the hunting deity worshiped by the residents of that area.更多还原
