PbWO4∶(Mo,Y)晶体的闪烁性能研究
SCINTILLATION PROPERTIES OF PbWO4 (Mo,Y) CRYSTALS
【摘要】 用改进的坩埚下降法生长PbWO4:(Mo,Y)和纯PbWO4闪烁晶体。对切自毛坯晶体籽晶端的23mm×23mm×20mm六面抛光样品进行了吸收光谱、超短脉冲X射线激发荧光寿命、光产额和辐照损伤性能的测试。结果表明:Mo,Y双掺杂能显著增强PbWO4晶体的辐照硬度,在35Gy/h的剂量率下辐照24h后,纯PbWO4晶体的光产额变化率为52.4%,而PbWO4:(Mo,Y)晶体的光产额变化率仅为17.5%。Mo,Y双掺杂也改善了PbWO4晶体在350-420nm范围内的光学透过性能,并且PbWO4:(Mo,Y)晶体的平均发光衰减时间缩短为8.5ns,较之纯PbWO4晶体(15.2ns)更快。
【Abstract】 Doubly-doped PbWO4 : (Mo, Y) and pure PbWO4 crystals were grown by means of a modified Bridgman method. The optical absorption spectra, luminescence decay time with an ultra short pulsed X-ray excitation, light yield and irradiation damage for 23 mm×23 mm ×20 mm crystal samples cut from the seed end of as-grown ingots were measured. The results show that the irradiation hardness for PbWO4 crystals can be evidently improved by doping with Mo and Y. After irradiation at the dose rate of 35 Gy/h for 24 h, the light yield loss of PbWO4 : (Mo, Y) crystal is only about 17. 5% compared to the 52. 4% of pure PbWO4. Moreover the optical transmission property of PbWO4 crystal at the range of 350- 420 nm is improved by the double doping. The average luminescence decay time of the PbWO4 : (Mo,Y) crystals is shortened to 8.5 ns, which is faster than the average decay time, 15. 2 ns, of pure PbWO4 crystals.
