【Abstract】 Porcine rotavirus was successfully isolated from diarrheal piglet fecal samples from Jilin Province. MA104 cells were used for the replication and isolation of the virus. After four generations , the strain could produce obvious cytopathic effects (CPE). Typical rotavirus particles were seen with direct electron microscope. Its RNA electropherotype was 4:2:3:2 which accords with the electropherotype of group A rotavirus. Its characteristics of hemagglutination and plague were studied tentatively.
