【Abstract】 This study investigates Mainland Chinese students studying and intending to study overseas. It explores their attitudes towards and expectations from Intercultural Training (ICT), and their worst difficulties in the target culture. The main purposes are to explore the significance of ICT to Chinese students studying and intending to study abroad, and to offer suggestions to ICT in China. Data have been collected mainly through questionnaires and interviews, involving 67 participants altogether. The results reveal that a majority of the difficulties experienced by the students during their adjustment stage largely stemmed from culture and cultural differences. The findings of the study strongly point to the need for incorporating ICT into pre-departure training for would-be Chinese overseas students. Contents of pre-departure ICT are proposed. Suggestions for future training and research are recommended.更多还原
