高等植物线粒体内RNA编辑的研究进展

【摘要】 RNA编辑普遍存在于高等植物线粒体中 ,是线粒体产生功能蛋白所必不可少的步骤。本文概述了高等植物线粒体RNA编辑的研究进展。

【Abstract】 RNA editing is a process in which the genetic information of a gene transcript is changed during or after transcription. As a result, the nucleotide sequences of transcripts are different from those encoded in genome. RNA editing exists extensively in higher plant mitochondria, and affects predominantly protein-coding regions. The amino acids are usually altered because of the editing action generally in the first or second position of codon. There are more than 1 000 RNA editing sites in plant mitochondria. RNA editing has been a required step for forming functional proteins in higher plant mitochondria.
