【Abstract】 The Dunhuang caisson pattern, characterized by"complicated but orderly", is analysed in this paper from view point of modern design with mainly three aspects--construction, color and organization. The specific property of "simplification" behind the complicated and excellent caisson pattern is revealed preliminary, and it mainly shown by using "米"letter grid as the basic construction, few colors and reasonable organization. These properties can help us get some advices on organizing complex shapes when designing.更多还原
