【Abstract】 This paper presents four - layer model of architecture for the retrieval system of digital libraries. These four layers are interface - layer, transfers - layer, middleware - layer and resource - layer A retrieval process can be described as the information transmission from the interface - layer to the resource and return. In this arehitecture, the middleware connects the interface to the resource, acts as a core of the retrieval system of digital libraries. It is a major subject of the studies on digital libraries.更多还原
