【Abstract】 Since the 1990s,Japanese economic growth has remained in the doldrums.Having investigated the causes of the prolonged low-speed growth of the Japanese economy,this essay puts forward the concept of “pest-overtaking."It argues that the present problems facing the Japanese economy result from the accumulation of various problems in the course of Japan’s economic overtaking. An overtaking type of economy can promote the formation, development, and realization of an industrial economy in late developing countries, but it also creates many tricky dilemmas for the further development of the industrial economy in these countries. The problems have lingered on since Japan achieved its goal of economic overtaking. This is referred to as a“post-overtaking" phenomenon.
