【Abstract】 A distinct coronavirus (SARS-CoV) has been identified as the etiological agent of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). We obtained six coding fragments of the SARS-CoV S gene by PCR and synthesized them in Escherichia cob BL21. The S4 protein which contains a large part of the ACE - 2 binding region was purified by nickel - affinity chromatography.
