【Abstract】 This article provides a brief introduction of the standards and requirements set out by the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments,which was newly adopted by IMO on 13 February 2004.The Convention includes two parts,the convention itself and its Annex containing the technical regulations.This Convention is IMO’s first legally binding instrument governing biological invasion through ballast water in marine environment protection.The Convention will bring important influence on the world merchant fleet.更多还原
