【Abstract】 MIP protocol provides a simple and expandable macro-mobility scheme for mobile host (MH). Micro-MIP protocols solve fast and seamless handoff controlling in local areas. However, lack of the strategy that makes MIP and micro-MIP integrated will lead to the dramatic decrease of the network performance when MH roams in different domains. To solve the problem, a new scheme was proposed, which could integrate MIP (based on route optimization and smooth handoff) and micro-MIP protocols seamlessly.
