Auditory System of Echolocating Bats Modulates Vocal In Brainstem Level
【Abstract】 For the particularity and importance in auditory system of echolocating bats, they can modulate the following vocal features in feedback way. In central nerve system, the feedback mostly occurs in brainstem especially the midbrain, including paralemniscal tegmental area, periaqueductal gray, parabrachial nucleus, nucleus of the central acoustic tract, superior colliculus and other areas or nucleus. They make prominent modulation in different aspects of echolocating vocality respectively. This modulation has crucial biological signification in specific prey behavior in echolocating bats.
