【Abstract】 Outlaws of the Marsh shows its respect for Taoism but does not prostrate itself before it; and it depreciates Buddhism but does not bespatter it at will. The two religions in the novel, diametrically opposite and different as they are, assume the same sacred missions of showing the Ariadne’s Thread, preaching the good and punishing the evil, which, together, constitute the religious conception of the novel. It is based on the mysterious but sagacious intention of exhortation and awareness of mission that the two religions maintain an equilibrium in their cultural setup throughout the novel.更多还原
