【Abstract】 Users will leave a huge amount of usage information on the server ( Web server, proxy server) or client when they are accessing the Internet. Web log mining plays a very important role in many fields, including personalized information service, portal website design and service improvement, customized electronic commerce, intelligent Web sites building, website reputation and benefit improvement. In this paper the definition and classification of Web mining, and the main Web log preprocessing technology and method are described. The primary algorithm of Web usage mining, the evaluation method and important applications of Web usage mining are discussed in detail.
