【摘要】 汉英词典的质量关乎成千上万的读者。文章对自 1 978年商务版《汉英词典》至 2 0 0 0年商务版《新时代汉英大词典》的众汉英词典进行抽样调查、考察 ,发现质量问题不少 ,主要是 :盲从汉语词典 ,以讹传讹 ;代代传抄 ,不求上进 ;词语取舍主观武断 ,且大幅落后于词势 ,等等 ,种种舛误不一而足 ,与所自夸的各种美名其实不符更多还原

【Abstract】 The quality of our Chinese English dictionaries concern the many users directly. A sampling survey of these dictionaries ranging from A Chinese English Dictionary published in 1978 down to New Age Chinese English Dictionary published in 2000 has demonstrated that they do not live up to the expectation they themselves have boasted of, as can be found in such quality inadequacies as a blind follower of some Chinese Dictionaries to circulate erroneous information, a plagiarizer from generation to generation without making any creative efforts; and an assertive selector of entry words, etc. There seems to be a long, long way to go before catching up with the developing situations.更多还原
