【Abstract】 Neo-liberal reforms succeeded in bringing down inflation in Argentina, but it proved that the reforms had many short-comings: 1) The debt crises in the 1980s and 1990s were partly created by financial liberalization. 2) Fiscal imbalance became all the more conspicuous. 3) Reforms in the labor market did not keep pace with reforms in other areas. 4) Reforms made income inequality worse, and this situation in turn jeopardized social stability. The Argentine crisis offers the following implications: First, economic reforms should be guided by a theory that suits national realities. Second, it is important to manage the public finance with legal means. Third, the speed of reforms should be carefully designed and implemented. Last, but not the least, social cost from reforms must be reduced.更多还原
