【Abstract】 Northrop Frye is not only a great literary theorist and myth-archetypal critic, but also an important cultural critic. The paper makes an in-depth inquiry into the factors that interact to make Frye a cultural critic. It also elaborates on the differences between Frye’s critical theory and other theories of cultural criticism covering Carl Jung, Marxism, Carl Max, the New Historicism, and the New Criticism.
