【Abstract】 As a new FACTS control equipment, the CSC (Convertible Static Compensator) was installed at NYPA’s (NewYork Power Authority) Marcy substation. The installation of the CSC will increase power flow transfer limit by 120 MWin the middle-east line, and increase power flow transfer limit by 240MW in the whole east system. The CSC can enhanceMarcy bus voltage control, provide more damping for contingencies, and offer operational flexibility during outages. Thecompletion of this project solves the voltage stability which was a bottleneck of New York transmission system, and en-hances the security of the whole power supply system.更多还原
