【Abstract】 A new catalytic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace iron? has been developed. The method is based on the catalytic action of trace iron? on the oxidative coupling of p-amino-N,N-dimethylaniline dihydrochloride and 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid by hydrogen peroxide in mixed acid and sodium hydroxide medium at pH 5.7.Its optimum conditions were established. The linear range of this method was 0.00～0.02 mg/L. The detection limit for trace iron? is 2.1×10 -7 g/L. The method was used to determine trace iron? in tap water and lake water successfully.更多还原
