【Abstract】 Through experimental and theoretical research,it can be certified that glass fibre reinforced plastics(GFRP) is the ideal radial confining material.The strength and ductility of the core concrete can begreatly improved by GFRP pipe,and unprecedented application field will be exploited by taking advanatge its properties of light weight,high corrosin and shock resistance as well as non-magnetism.
