【Abstract】 The western learning flowing toward the east" was one of the important features of the cultural exchange between the west and China, and the Chinese library undertakings had been affected extremely by the western theories and methods. This paper introduces and evaluates the first tide of the western learning in modern times and the second in the contemporary age in the Chinese library circle.
