【Abstract】 This paper argues that people should take mother tongue′ negative transfer into account, not merely lay stress on the peculiarities of foreign language when they study how to teach or learn a foreign language, because it is impractical for Chinese students to think directly in foreign language without thinking of Chinese absolutely. The correct attitude should be as follows: At first people have to admit the objective existence of mother tongue′s negative transfer, and then try to find out the basic mechanism of negative transfer and its condition to occur.Only in this way can people apply the theories of cognitive science and contrastive linguistics to give students some suggestions on how to learn a foreign language well.更多还原
