【Abstract】 Unified Modeling Language CUML) has been the well-adopted modeling language standard- It is very important to interchange models between different CASE tools. This article introduces two kinds of model interchange formats, CDIF and XMI, both of which can be used for UML model interchange. Worked out earlier, CDIF provides a family of standards for data interchange between CASE tools. The architecture of CDIF has a great impact on later model interchange standards. The recently adopted standard. XMI. which integrates Meta Object Facility (MOF) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) , provides two parallel mappings between MOF metamodel and XML DTDs, and between MOF metadata and XML documents. Because the UML metamodel is defined as a MOF Metamodel, it is more suitable to use XMI to interchange UML models. The DTD file generated by applying XMI rules has become a part of the newest UML standard.更多还原
