【Abstract】 The development of solid base catalysts in the last thirty years was summarized. The variances, merits and drawbacks of solid base as well as the factors that influenced the catalytic behavior of solid base were presented in detail. Particularly, the effects of basic site predecessor and support on the base strength of solid base were discussed.
