【Abstract】 With the creation of an online environment for learning English language using modern education technolo-gies,students can have a wide range of opportunities to perceive and experience English in different learning contexts and hence apply their knowledge of the language in various situations.The competencies of distance learners in solving real-life problems can be enhanced if students can form their own understanding of objec-tive truths based on feedback on their own learning behaviors.This paper discusses the application of student-centered principles in the construction of an English learning online environment.In this manner,students can actively construct their own knowledge.The following issues regarding an online environment for English lan-guage learning are also examined in this paper:the cultivation of an English-learning atmosphere;the control and assurance of quality;and learning support services.更多还原
