【Abstract】 The hardness variation of the hardening layer on the roll body surface after use of backup roll in 5-stand cold tandem mill in Angang Cold Rolled Strip Plant is investigated, the hardening layer depth on the backup roll surface after its use is thus determined, and then the grinding system for the backup roll is modified.
