【Abstract】 Liu Yong and his ci poems were special cultural phenomena in the Northern Song Dynasty. Liu Yong’s poems are characterized by his metropolis complex as a kind of life experience. The implication of such a complex can be interpreted not only as a representation of his aspiration for worldly pleasure in his consciousness and way of life, but also as a disclosure of a conflict between his pursuit of fame and personal indulgence.
