【Abstract】 The ability of obtaining large amount of information is highly essential in the new century. Therefore, it is necessary for English teaching and learning to cope with the new situation. In the opinion of the writer, to develop the English learners’ reading and comprehending ability is what the teachers should do in English teaching program. However, reading methods and skills shouldn’t be neglected since they play a very important roll in the process of reading. Thus, this paper intends to put forward the writer’s own opinion on how to develop the English learners’ ability of reading comprehension in addition to introducing some of the reading skills offered by linguisticians abroad.更多还原
