【Abstract】 This paper points out the real hindrance toward translation teaching is the misunderstanding of the function and significance of translation. Translation, has an irreplaceable role in the study of foreign language, including the accumulation of language data, promotion of comprehension and cognitive power, development of expressive means in both the mother tongue and the foreign language, broadening the horizon of knowledge, appreciation of exotic cultures and the cultivation of meticulous working attitudes toward research. Thus it is a must for us to carry out the teaching curriculum and strengthen translating instruction and practice. Finally in this paper some examples are cited to support this conclusion. [更多还原
