【Abstract】 Long Days Journey into Night truthfully reproduces ONeills family relationship which is filled with both love and hate. The play lasts only for one day, but the experience of the past is always reflected in the pains of the present life. The past and the present are mingled together from beginning to end. The dramatic theme of Eugene ONeill — the past is the present and the future — is thus revealed thoroughly. Life is a circle, which is full of endless cycles and repetitions.
