【Abstract】 Starting from the trend of "contextualization" in modern narrative texts, This author deals with the context’s components, ways of being, aesthetic mechanism and aesthetic features. By comparing with and distinguishing from some aesthetic categories suchas artistic conception and realm in traditional Chinese literary commentary, the author ascertains the function of "context" as an aesthetic category in the study of narrative text. This "context" theory fills in a gap in the study of modern narrative text where there is no such an aesthetic category as "context" attributable to the understatement of the three elemeats (character, plot, setting) in traditional novels, and also provides convenience to the study of modern narrative texts.更多还原
