【Abstract】 Based on the explanation of the functions of hedges and the statistical data derived from 48 scientific papers of 8 famous English journals, this paper compares the data and analyzes the similarities and differences between English native speakers and Chinese writers in the habits of using hedges when they write research papers in English. This may be of great help for Chinese writers to write scientific research papers and communicate smoothly with foreigners in written English in their field.更多还原
