【Abstract】 In this paper, the importance of object-oriented technology(OOT) in CIMS(computer integrated manufacturing system) environment is discussed and analyzed, engineering data management (EDM),product data management (PDM) and product information management (PIM) are discussed and compared. Especially, data integration based on OOT is presented in details, which we think can satisfy the requirement of project application for distributed database and heterogeneous database.
