【Abstract】 Both "The Literary Mind" and "The Poem Grade" have the colouring of classic-worship. They have three points in common. Firstly, they both regard classics as the origines of writings or literary forms; Secondly, they both advocate the elegant and orthodox writing style. Thirdly,both of them attach much im- portance to figure of speech and arousing and show more appreciation of arousing. The major difference is that "The Literary Mind" tends to the principles classics reveal while "The Poem Grade" pays more attention to the writing methods of classics. In addition,"The Literary Mind" is even more conservative than "The Po- em Grade" as for the attitude towards the four-word poem form.
